(RP) An English Messenger Arrives
« on: 31 December, 2012, 03:12:34 AM »
The trip had been grueling for the messenger from the Royal Court of England, but he had finally arrived in Savoy. Unsure of what he would find, he had donned his tabard of silk and gold metalwork embroidery and brushed his shoes before going the final leg of the journey in search of the Duke of Savoy. No one was supposed to harm a messenger, according to convention, but then not everyone in Europe adhered to such chivalric notions.

The messenger held a scroll case with all due care under his arm, protecting it from the winter weather abroad. It would not be until that messenger located the Duke of Savoy himself that he would reveal the contents of the case, a letter signed and sealed by his Sovereign Lady, the Queen of England, and saying the following:

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Unto James Balliot, Duke of Savoy, come greetings from Her Royal Majesty Queen Elizabeth of England

It has come to our attention that a small force led by Duncan Hamilton of the Roman Republic and Eike Repgow, Judge of Savoy, has this day despoiled the peace and tranquility of our beloved Isle. These same invaders did take up arms against our neighbor, the Principality of Wales, and did, with malice and forethought, raid that kingdom for coin and goods. While such actions may be commonplace upon the continent, they are unheard of in the Isles.

The Kingdom of England does hereby condemn such actions by Duncan Hamilton, Eike Repgow, Dag Bille, and Meffistoe Lannister, and does publicly disavow all association with such raiding. Senseless acts of violence in the Isles that threaten the security and tranquility of England shall receive a swift response henceforth.

At this time, the Kingdom of England seeks the official position of the Duchy of Savoy and of its Duke concerning the raid this day in Wales and their Judge's part in it. We earnestly hope that today's events were merely an oversight on the part of the participants and that such acts of violence shall not be repeated in the Isles.

Writ by the Queen's own hand this 30th day of December, being 1312, in Her Majesty's city of London

Queen Elizabeth

Looks like your messenger never reached Duke James. In Savoy men of a questionable manhood are often mistaken for women. If your messanger has not returned then he surely must have become somebody's property :P Whooooaaaarrrgghhhhhhh !!!! I am not a roman citizen :P lol ? :)

OOC: I am not entirely sure how to respond to your, erm, statement. The Queen of England is clearly not standing in Savoy. Her messenger is. This is a roleplay thread. Are you smarting off to the English messenger? Did you send this in a letter to the English Royal Court? When interacting with either Elizabeth or her many associated characters, please RP the interaction so that I know how best to respond to you, especially when you are unsuccessfully attempting to taunt one of them.

Thanks much!
The player behind Elizabeth
