PRAY AFTER THE BATTLE
« on: 22 November, 2017, 06:50:49 PM »
Celestino was tired, for two days he had been busy throwing lazy members, treating the soldiers who had been so honored.
His dress was dirty with blood, and now that he had finished his job, he knelt on the ground that a few hours earlier had been a battlefield and with his eyes turned to the red sunset sky:

The Lord is my light and my salvation, *
    who will I fear?
† The Lord is defending my life, *
    of whom will I have terror?

When the wicked are attacked *
    to get rid of meat,
are they, opponents and enemies, *
    to stumble and fall.

If an army encamps against me, *
    my heart does not fear;
if the battle is against me, *
    even then I trust.

One thing I asked the Lord, *
    this alone I seek:
dwell in the house of the Lord *
    every day of my life,

to taste the sweetness of the Lord *
    and admire his sanctuary.

He offers me a shelter *
    on the day of misfortune.
Hides me in the secret of her home, *
    it raises me on the cliff.

And now I raise my head *
    on the enemies that surround me;
I will sacrifice in his house sacrifices of exultation, *
    I will sing to the Lord with joyful hymns.
