Prosecution doesn't ask for a Barrister.

The accused has chosen not to appear in this Court, although proper warning and time were given.

The trial will now continue with the Prosecution's opening remarks.
Two witnesses may be called to support the Prosecution's statements.

Thank you your Honor,

In the day 28 of May 1318 I arrived in Gwynnedd and i knew there was a foreing man who has just arrived in our land. The problem was when i saw he was not only wearing a pickaxe (illegal according to our law), he was also mining illegally and without regal authorization from our iron mine.

Here are proves

The worst point was discovering that the miner is an ally ! For this reason many of the Kingdom of Normandy lost trust in this ally, because he was clearly using the ally status to come in our land to mine illegally.

So according to our laws, The Government of the Kingdom of Normandy would like to accuse Jan De Vlaminc for having broken those following laws:

Quote
VI. Lese Majesty and Attack to the Kingdom Prestige
Whoever offends in any way the honor and prestige of the Kingdom of Normandy, or the Regent or the Norman Government will be punished. Not answering to to a request, an order or any other message written/said by an high rank of the Government Assignments or an high rank of Noble Titles belonging to the Kingdom of Normandy will be prosecuted for this article of law. This article is still valid for whoever, by means of words, acts, omissions of due acts or in any form of expressions affects the security and peaceful coexistence in the Kingdom in some way or exposes it to external threats or damages its international prestige.
[Classification C-Severe Offense to D-Capital Offense, target: everyone]
For abusing of the status of ally to get iron illegally and without authorization from the Norman Crown nor the Norman Government.

Quote
XXI. Safeguard of ressources of the Kingdom
All the resources of any kind in the territory of the Norman Kingdom are the property of the Norman Government.
No resources may be extracted, or farms, Terrains, Houses and Shopts owned by foreigners in Normandy without permission being granted by an high rank of Government Assignments or the Regent. If found guilty the person will face a Class-C Severe Offense up to D-capital offense . All extracted raw resources must be returned to the Kingdom as compensation. If found guilty and extracted resources are found to be placed in a foreign market, an enforcing Guard Captain may travel to the foreign market and confiscate said resources in accordance with negotiated extradition treaties or in lands where confiscation of stolen goods is not specifically prohibited by criminal law.
Are exempt from compliance with this articles citizens belonging to kingdoms which have been concluded trade agreements.
Whoever doesn’t respect this law will be banned from the Kingdom (exceptions given only by the Regent) and will be defined as « persona non grata » in trading with Normandy or within its territories.
[Classification C-Severe Offense to D-Capital Offense, target: everyone]

For mining illegally and without authorization.

Quote
XXII. Resource theft prevention
Any foreigner equipping a tool suitable for gathering resources is strictly required to unequip it in crossing Norman Kingdom lands. The offense can be combined with the art. XXI. Safeguard of ressources of the Kingdom . Exceptions are provided only by the Regent.
[Classification B-Minor Crime to C-Severe Offense, target: Foreigners]

For wearing a pickaxe in Norman land.

The Kingdom of Normandy asks so an exemplary punishment for a veteran of ME who has clearly broken Norman laws.
For breaking law VI - We ask for 600 silver coins of fee and 3 days of jail (D class offense)
For breaking law XXI - We ask for 1000 silver coins of fee and 3 days of jail (D class offense) + the prosecuted will have to return all the iron mined (We ask to the King not to give the banishment from the Kingdom in compliance with the alliance with Kingdom of Flanders).
For breaking law XXII - We ask for 400 silver coins of fee and 2 days of jail (C class offense)

Cumulability of punishments will be 2000 silver coins of fee and 5 days (maximum) of jail. The fee will have to be deposited in the Castle or the Royal Palace of Avranches.

We hope that the prosecuted will appear in the Court to explain facts.

Since the defendant has chosen not to appear to present his case, the Court will move on to the Prosecution's closing remarks.

Nothing to say more, just remembering to the accused to give back what he stole (if found guilty).

After careful review of all the evidence here presented, the Court has reached a Verdict.

All this considered, and taking into account the Accused's age and the severity of the implications to the kingdoms economy,  We find the Accused, Jan De Vlaminc , in absentia,  GUILTY of breaking the Norman law and sentence him

-a fine of 2400 silver coins to be paid within 60h from now to the royal palace of avranches;
otherwise we will open a ticket to the Supreme Court (admins) to be paid
-one day of imprisonement (King Richard asked me to reduce the punishment for a Flanders citizen). This has immediate action.

The Trial is closed.
