Sofie read Vlad's invitation to his wedding and she was happy to receive word from her long time friend again after a felt eternity. She did not make it to Rome, but she would not want to miss the festivities in Prague. Her husband Marius was too busy to join her, but when she entered aborad of a ship sailing to the mainland she still was hoping that Marius would be able to maybe follow her later. While she was making sure that her horse Mira would be taken good care of during the journey, Sofie thought about Vlad. She hand't seen him since ages, she felt. His wife, Mairead Blach ... Sofie wrinkled her nose, tilting her head thoughtfully. She had heard that name, but she was quite sure she never met her.

Brandenburg with its wonderful landscape was a joy to travel. As always Kurt and Simon escorted her. Kurt, her guard while she was vassal and later regent in Austria, always followed her, if it was Normandy or later Sweden. And young Simon, in the meantime no boy anymore but a young, strong man of 22 years of age, considered Kurt as his mentor and friend. So Sofie could always count on their presence and protection whenever she travelled.

They crossed the river Vltava, or river Moldau, as it was called in German, and Sofie was impressed of the wonderful bridges and building and the impresive landscape. In a recommended inn Sofie freshened up a bit and changed her clothes. She chose her green dress and a white coat, well, actually she was mainly wearing green, Odin's colour and within short she entered the palace, almost stunned by the beauty of the halls, but also by the gathered crowd. She recognised the one or other of the guests, nobles she met before, others she heard of but never met personally. Some reminded her of her past, but she had closed that chapter for good.

Sofie was sure that she would find bride and groom inmidst the loudest gathering of guests and tried to make her way towards them. In her arms she carried a bottle of blessed mead, as well as a bundle of crops, the traditional wedding gift in Sweden to grant that the bridal couple would never have to suffer from hunger. Both, the bottle and and bundle were each wrapped in a small traditionall Swedish quilt.
When she finally found a chance to make her way towards Vlad and Mairead, she offered them a wide, happy smile with a respectful curtsy.
"Vlad, my friend, I am thankfull that you allow me to be part of this important day. Although I am sorry to say that my husband was too busy to join me. But he sends his best wishes and warm regards."

Sofie handed the bundle of crops to Vlad. "May you and your wife never suffer from hunger, my friend."
While handing the bottle of mead to Mairead, obviously from Scotland, as her accent told Sofie, she added "Please accept this bottle of blessed mead from Odin's Hof at Ostergotland. May the happiness that you feel today stay in your hearts forever and may you be blessed with luck and love and strong and healthy sons."

A little late, but better than not showing up at all. Captain Daniel was dressed to impress, noble clothes of fine silk and linen, despite his peasant status. His job and prestige afforded him such fine luxuries to be presented at the wedding of Ambassador Blach, a good friend of mine.

While there weren't many people around, those whom were, were but all nobility and very important people. Daniel didn't quite fit in the noble crowd, but he'd make do on this occasion. While looking around for the newly married couple, he took his time, enjoying the sights and prestige of the wedding.

After a few moments, he finally caught up to the newly married couple.

"Vlad, you're a very lucky man, Mairead is a very good member of Scotland and we will miss her duly. I know you'll take care of her though, just from a few personal dealings I can see you're a man of honor and integrity. It is my honor to see you as her husband" He said as he bowed before the couple.

"Mairead, it is with great sadness that I will be seeing you leave Scotland but it is overshadowed by joy that you'll be happy with Vlad and be able to continue to do what you love and meet new people in Bohemia. I can only hope to see what will come in the future. Very happy for you two" He exclaimed.
