Axel was wandering around the great market square of Copenhagen, looking at what merchants came from all around Europe were selling, inebriated by the aroma of exotic fruits and spices.
A soldier, carrying a sealed scroll found him finally among the crowd. He handed the letter to Axel, and said that he was awaited in the office of the Military Attache of the Royal Danish Army. The letter seems to be official. Wondering himself why his presence was requested and by whom, he broke the seal and quickly read the scroll content. A slight smile appeared on his face.

Escorted by the soldier, he made his way toward the headquarter of the Royal Danish Army, and then the the office of the Military Attache.
There was Arn waiting for him.
- Hej Arn! Or shall I say Sir Arn, now? Axel said with a wide smile, nodding his head bowed.
- You wanted to see me, my friend? Axel added, extending his hand to Arn.

"ahh Axel so good of you to come with such haste. I didnt expect my corporal to find you that quickly" Arns shakes his head and chuckles a bit "He is not the sharpest tool in the shed that corporal of mine"

"Sit down please" Arn motions towards the chair

As Axel moves towards to visitor chair Arn interupts him "No my good friend. Wrong chair" and points towards the chair on the other side

Arn takes out a scroll from inside his garment. It is another sealed letter bearing the seal of the royal army.

"You have recently been given the honor of ambassador by our queen and I can only whole heartedly agree with the queen regents decision" Arn reach out his hand to shake

"it is in fact why i have asked you to come here today. I need a person of etiquette, civil and well mannered. A person who does not lose his temper when insulted."

Arn begins to pace around the floor.

"The reason why you are setting in THAT chair is a bit selfish and also quite important. Foreign dignitaries and soldiers will visit our lands and sometimes visit the army as well.
Troops will come here to participate in our tournaments and contests from afar and I need a good man to welcome these guest with hospitality and manners.

Sometimes all that prevents a nice friendly visit from turning into a international incident is a clear headed individual and I think that person is YOU."

Arn waits a bit to let the news sink in.

"I would like to offer you the position of military attache"

Arn places the insignia of Axel's new office on the table ... should he accept that is.

Once that Axel was comfortably seated in the chair that had been indicated to him, he listened to what Arn was proposing to him. Then he looked to the insignia of the office, which Arn was proposing to him.
A person of etiquette, civil and well mannered... him? Well, that's was what Arn thought about him, at least. He surely had had an education, due to his birth and to the goodness and the friendship of the Queen.
He stood still, with an unreadable expression on his face. Then he looked to his friend, sited on the other side of the table.
- Well, if you think that I'm fitted to this sensitive role, I will accept it. I will do my best for the Royal Army, the Queen and for Denmark Axel finally said with a wide smile.

"Axel .... Axel where are you ?" Arn bursts into the Attaches office seeing Axel busy going over some paperwork.

"Oh there you are for god sake"

Arn shows Axel the letter from the chancellor explaining the dilemma Arn is having

"The first demands are of cause obvious. Naturally accommodations should be in order and like wise food and a suitable bow fit for a queen, but that is not what worries me"

Arn take the scrolls from Axel and points with his finger "THERE..." Arn exclaims throwing up his arms

Quote
It is imperative as well that the regent does not reflect badly in her appearance, to which you are also held responsible.

"and there ..."

Quote
In short ... We of her majesty's court will send Sir Manfred Cedergren along with her majesty's party. his role will be to observe that everything is happening according to the lettering said above.

"I need advice old friend" Arns says sounding a bit high pitch in his voice
"How can I tell the men to compete at their very best and still ensure the queens image is pristine"

Arn points at the scroll "and that man they are sending ... You have to make sure he is manned and have no reason to complaint"

Arns sighs hoping to receive words of wisdom from his good friend.

Axel didn't raised his eyes from his paperwork as Arn rushed into his office. He knew his friend quite well, and he knew how usually Arn behaved himself.
- Hej Arn, nice to see you too Axel said calmly, with a large smile, still dedicating his attention to his paperwork.

Arn put the scrolls under his sight, urging him to read them.
He didn't knew personally the signatory of the scroll, but he still was not surprised about his requests. Some people at court had always thought that the Sovereign should always be the first in every contest. But he knew the Queen also.
- I believe, my friend, that the chancellery is not acting on Her Majesty's behalf. I hope this could be useful to reassure you about the whole matter. I suppose that would be enough to ask to your men to remember their duties as loyal and devoted subjects of the Queen. As Danes they have the duty to always give their very best and also always to respect Her Majesty Axel simply said.

- As for this gentleman that they will send along with the Queen's party... I'm sure you won't even notice his presence Axel just said, smiling enigmatically.

"Maybe you are right" Arn says a bit nervously "a proper contest is always best but she is the queen and to some extend I do see the chancellors point"

Suddenly Arn stops pacing around and speaks to the air

"You are right Axel. The queen is wise beyond her years and I will trust your judgement on this. However ... I would be more at ease if you could talk to this Sir Cedergren when he arrives. Calm him and persuade him that everything is as it should be"

"she could win all by herself really..... " Arn voice trails off

- I will talk to this Sir Cedergren, if this could please you, my friend. But you should remember that it's you the one who will be considered responsible for the result of this contest from the Chancellery Axel said calmly.
- I am sure that the Queen will show her valour and all will be settled good Axel added with confidence.
